Twelve years ago, without an MBA or really any kind of administrative experience, I founded a nonprofit. It didn’t start out that way, it started out as a no-budget reading series that a Columbia classmate and I came up with over lunch to find the answer to the impossible question, “how can you keep your creative career going after you have kids?”
